Kayakfishing camp in Hibarako 2014

June 14 and 15.
We went to annual summer camp to Lake Hibara/Hibarako in Fukushima, Japan. There is fantastic place and the mecca of Smallmouth bass fishing in Japan.

[DAY 1]
It was strong wind and rainy. Actually fish was very slow..

We are six anglers and three on polyethylene kayak and three on inflatable kayak.
And four fly fishermen and two lure fishermen. Here we go!

Smallie on Popper.

Bluegill on foam beetle.

Dinner time.

Kanpai/Cheer on highball!

I cooked Vegi-rice.
It is consomme chicken flavor and like Paella without saffron.

[DAY 2]
It was fine day and big mayflies hatching very much. Actually Smallmouth basses took them everywhere.

Good morning!

Have a morning coffee.

The mayfly on my kayak.

This is me and kneeling  for fishing. It easier visible fly than sitting,
 but a little bit instability.

Smallie on Froggy.

And on Diving popper.

Mayflies. It was fantastic rise fishing!

As you know, Smallmouth bass is one of the greatest fish for fly fishing, especially I like fishing on surface.
It's so exiting!

Which fishing style do you like?
