Catfishing in Kasumigaura

Lake Kasumigaura is the second biggest lake in Japan and famous fishing field. Last summer I got a nice bass and went to fishing for Channel Catfish yesterday.

I went to fishing to lake Kawaguchi with Fuad and his wife who are my first friends from Malaysia.
Usually we can fish up Largemouth bass, Bluegill and carp. In usual...

Lake Kawaguchi is one of five lakes of Mt Fuji.
Beautiful nature, clear water however no fish. :(

Salvelinus in summer!

I went to fishing trip to Fukui prefecture on 27 to 30 July. Fukui is a part of Hokuriku area and you may enjoy beautiful food or Dinosaur museum if you even aren't angler.


The mountain stream is a part of upper stream of Kuzuryu river that is the biggest river in Fukui. There is native Japanese char living in a stream.

Time for the butcher

Few days ago, I wanted to tying "Jock" that is simplified version of the "Jock Scott" the world's No 1 famous salmon fly.
As you know, it have to using white tip blue mallard wing but it's little parts of quill. Actually almost blue wing are remain.



Then, I was tying also "Butcher" on blue mallard. It's simple and beautiful too, isn't it?

Wisteria and fly fishing

Tying pheasant tail nymph as original style

As you know, the "pheasant tail nymph" is invented by Frank Sawyer who was the most famous river keeper in England and he didn't using tying thread for the fly.

Elk hair caddis

If you can't make up your mind at the front of rise, I recommend a "Elk hair caddis". It's a pretty versatile dry fly.

My favorite type is peacock herl body.
If you are tying beginner, I recommend thread body and no hackle pattern.
